An Introduction to Lip Boom...

On Wednesday 11th April there were some very funny goings on at MUA towers in London, there were lots of sneaky Tweets and Facebook statuses about a fabulous brand new MUA product. I had heard nothing about another new product being released, so despite being away from home that night I kept my eye firmly peeled to the goings on of said MUA cosmetics team. All was revealed when the lovely Karla posted on Instagram the pictures of the MUA Cosmetics and Alexandra Burke Lip Booms, instantly the excitement got me and I was hooked waiting for more pictures.
The Lip Boom comes in eight shades, all designed and named by the lovely Alexandra. The names are common phrases said by Alexandra with the most infamous one being 'OK.COM' from her days as an X Factor judge. The others include, LMK (Let Me Know) which is the deepest shade, Cheeky and It's a Situation. I like the fact that Alexandra hasn't just put her name to these, she made a point in stating that she had been fully involved in the whole process. She has also designed the colours specifically to suit every skin tone, from the pale nude colours to the deep browns there is a shade for everyone.
They come in a lovely cardboard sleeve which features Alexandra herself striking a fabulous pose wearing the relevant shade of Lip Boom.
I was lucky enough to be sent three of the eight shades of the new products to share with you all. This post is just to introduce you to the product and then there will be three follow up post sharing swatches and my individual views of each one.
The Lip Booms are released on the 9th May 2012 and will retail at just £3 each.
I think the MUA team know me very well as all three colours are definitely ones I would have picked up! The shades are Cheeky, Doin' Good and OK.COM.
The MUA and Alexandra Burke Lip Booms are a double ended  product. At one end is a matte lipstick and the other is a highlighting gloss.
There are four ways to wear this product. You can use the lipstick and the gloss alone as option one and two, then you can apply the gloss all over the lipstick for a lovely glossy sheen or you can use the lipstick as a base and then highlight the centre and cupids bow of the lips with the gloss to create a fuller curvaceous looking lip.
The lipsticks are very matte, and of course a fantastic quality just like the other MUA lipsticks. They glide on the lips lovely and have a great lasting power.
The gloss is packed  full of chunky glitter particles to help reflect the light in all different angles to give the illusion of volume and a fuller lip.
The last thing to say before I go into detail with the separate posts is that I love these! They are amazing, I have been getting use out of them all in all four ways!
Keep an eye out for the individual posts which will include lots of swatches and how they look on the lips.
Are you looking forward to these being released on the 9th May? Which shades do you have your eye on?
Thanks for reading!x
